Born 28 July 1961 in Grodno.

Graduated from Grodno State University named after Ya.Kupala (Physicist, Teacher).

Merited Master of Sports of the USSR in Weightlifting.

Merited Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Belarus.

Two-time Olympic Champion in weightlifting (1988 and 1992), four-time World Champion, two-time European Champion, World Cup holder, twelve-time world record-holder.

Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 4th convocation.

Director of the Representative Office of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus in Grodno Province.

Member of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Weightlifting Union.

Vice-President of the European Weightlifting Federation.

Member of the Technical Committee of the International Weightlifting Federation.

Awarded the title “Honourable Citizen of the City of Grodno”.

Awarded the Order of Honour, the Jubilee Medals “65 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 — 1945”, “65 Years of Liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi Invaders”, a Certificate of Honour of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, a Certificate of Honour of the Supreme Soviet of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic.
