Biography

Born January 5, 1957 in Velyatichi Village, Borisov District, Minsk Province.

Graduated from the Byelorussian State University named after V.Lenin (Philologist, Teacher of the Russian language and literature).

Mrs Svetlana Gerasimovich worked as a teacher at Korsakovichi secondary school, then the Secretary of Borisov District Committee of Leninist Young Communist League of Byelorussia, Head of the Propaganda and Agitation Section, Head of the Ideological Section of Borisov District Committee of the Communist Party of Byelorussia. She was a Deputy Director for Pedagogical work of Staroborisov secondary school, Head of the Information Section, Deputy Chairperson of Borisov District Executive Committee, Chief Councillor-Inspector of Chairman of Minsk Province Executive Committee, Head of the General Directorate of Organizational and Personnel Activity of Minsk Province Executive Committee, Chairperson of Minsk Province Council of Deputies of the 25th and 26th convocations.

Was elected the member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 5th convocation.

Awarded a Certificate of Honour of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, a Certificate of Honour of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, two Certificates of Honour of Minsk Province Executive Committee, Jubilee Medals “60 Years of Liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi Invaders” and “60 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941 — 1945”, “90 Years of Belarus Army”, “65 Years of Liberation of the Republic of Belarus from Nazi Invaders”, Medal of the Commonwealth of Independent States Executive Committee “For Cooperation”.
